Returns & Refunds Policy

At Duperey, we take great pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our jewellery. Each piece is carefully inspected before dispatch to ensure it meets our high standards.
This Returns & Refunds Policy outlines your rights and our obligations under Australian Consumer Law (ACL), as administered by Consumer Affairs Victoria.

1. Australian Consumer Law Rights

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Under ACL, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund if a product:

  • Has a major fault
  • Is not of acceptable quality
  • Is significantly different from its description
  • Is unsafe or defective

These rights apply regardless of any store policy.

2. Change of Mind Returns

Due to the hygiene-sensitive nature of jewellery, Duperey does not accept change of mind returns.

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Deciding you no longer want the item
  • Ordering the wrong style or size
  • Personal preference after delivery
  • Items worn, tried on, or removed from original packaging

For hygiene and safety reasons, all sales are final unless the item is defective.

We encourage customers to review product descriptions, sizing details, and images carefully before placing an order.

3. Defective or Faulty Items

If you believe your item is defective, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order.

A product may be considered defective if it:

  • Arrives damaged
  • Has a manufacturing fault
  • Is not as described

Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, tarnishing due to improper care, or damage caused by misuse are not considered defects.

4. How to Request a Return for a Defective Item

To initiate a return, please email us at info@duperey.com with the following information:

  • Your order number
  • A clear description of the issue
  • Photos or videos clearly showing the defect

Once assessed, we will advise whether the item qualifies for a return under ACL.

5. Return Approval & Process

If your return is approved:

  • We will provide return instructions
  • The item must be returned unused, unworn, and in its original packaging
  • Returns must be sent back within the timeframe specified in our approval email

We recommend using a trackable shipping method, as we cannot be responsible for items lost in transit.

6. Refunds, Replacements, or Repairs

For approved defective items, Duperey will offer one of the following, as required under Australian Consumer Law:

  • Refund to the original payment method
  • Replacement of the same item (subject to availability)
  • Repair, where applicable

Refunds will be processed within 5–10 business days after the returned item has been received and inspected.

7. Shipping Costs

  • If the return is due to a confirmed defect, return shipping costs will be refunded to you by Duperey
  • Shipping costs are non-refundable for non-defective items
